Boardwalk

Langford Lowfields is a RSPB nature reserve in Nottinghamshire. The site is a sand and gravel quarry which is being restored after mineral extraction has finished, to create a vast reedbed habitat adjacent to the River Trent. I was commissioned to design and construct a 150 metre long boardwalk which would snake its way through the reedbed. These photographs show the stages of construction from start to finish, and also a few shots taken more recently showing the reed growth around the boardwalk.
